Lauren McCraney is the director at Captiva Civic Association who has interesting experiences in art, business, women’s advocacy and resilience. She will share an inspiring journey that connects community leadership at the Captiva Civic Association with her work alongside women’s cooperatives in Guatemala and her disaster-relief efforts with World Central Kitchen.

Through vivid stories and short video clips, she will highlight how women’s leadership, cultural resilience, and collective action transform communities in times of both calm and crisis. From strengthening civic engagement on Captiva, to supporting economic independence and maternal health for Indigenous women, to mobilizing food relief after hurricanes, Lauren weaves together lessons on purpose-driven leadership, compassion in action, and the power of showing up for one another.
