Please join The City of Sanibel for the Transportation Master Plan’s second public workshop on Thursday, June 25, at the Sanibel Community House. The City of Sanibel hosted the first public workshop on March 26 at the same location where the Consultant team presented preliminary findings and project ideas.

The second workshop will include a short presentation of project recommendations followed by interactive open-house stations. Time will be designated for questions and answers from the team of consultants who are working on the project. The public is welcome to share feedback and share ideas to help shape the final recommendations for the Transportation Master Plan. Public input gathered during this workshop will directly inform the recommendations and help guide the future of transportation on Sanibel.

About the Project:
The City of Sanibel, together with Volkert, Inc., Kittelson & Associates, Inc., and 24-7 Consulting, LLC is developing a Transportation Master Plan to evaluate proposed improvements across the island. The plan will document the current conditions of Sanibel’s transportation system, establish a long-term vision for future mobility, and provide recommendations for implementation over 5-, 10-, and 20-year timeframes. It will address key needs, including traffic congestion, wildlife–vehicle collisions, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and stormwater-related flooding. The transportation master plan is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2026, when it is anticipated that Sanibel’s Planning Commission will review the draft, and the City Council will adopt the final plan with its recommendations.
