A native of southern California\, she attended Boston University where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Classical Voice. She has written four novels in the Empress of Rome Saga\, and two books in the Italian Renaissance\, before turning to the 20th century with The Alice Network\, The Huntress\, The Rose Code\, The Diamond Eye\,  and The Briar Club. She is also a co-author in several collaborative novels including The Phoenix Crown with Janie Chang\, and Ribbons of Scarlet with Stephanie Dray\, Laura Kamoie\, Eliza Knight\, Sophie Perinot\, and Heather Webb. All have been translated into multiple languages. Kate and her husband now live in Maryland with three rescue dogs.

Andrea’s grandparents arrived in the 1950’s and lived for many years on the Bay in Miss Charlotta’s Teahouse next to Bailey’s General Store. DESCRIPTION:  \nArts and Culture Series – Chinese Calligraphy Class \nWang Lao-Shi (Teacher Wang) and his wife came to the U.S. in 2012\, then moved to Fort Myers in 2020 to be closer to his daughter Yi\, who lives on Sanibel. She will assist with the classes\, so you will have a chance to meet her. \nWang Lao – Shi was a professional engineer in China. He has a passion for Chinese calligraphy and brush painting. He would love to introduce you to this ancient Chinese art form. No experience or knowledge of the Chinese language is needed.
