SUMMARY:Intermediate Macrame with Jodi Cort
DESCRIPTION:  \nClick here to register \nPrevious macrame experience is required for this course \nJoin us at The Community House for Jodi Cort’s Intermediate Macrame Class to design a beautiful wall hanging! \nMacrame is a type of textile that is produced by making knots. There are various kinds of knots that can be used\, and they can be combined in an infinite number of ways to create both functional and aesthetic pieces. \nThis intermediate class will cover macrame knots needed to complete one wall hanging\, which each participant will be able to bring home. She hopes to instill an interest in this craft and a desire to continue to learn additional knots and patterns in order to create more advanced and unique pieces. \nAttendance in Jodi’s beginner level class or other previous experience with macrame is required to take this class. There are knots that are more complicated than the beginner-level classes offer. \nJodi will provide all materials. \nWe hope you will join us at the Community House to create this amazing piece! \n$50 for Members | $60 for Nonmembers \n▪️Nonmembers\, click here to register.\n▪️Members\, please call us at 239-472-2155 before purchasing your tickets to receive your DISCOUNT CODE!\n▪️Not a member yet? Originally from Massachusetts\, she moved to Sanibel in 1999. Until recently\, she worked part-time as a sign language interpreter in a variety of settings. She also volunteered in the Guardian and Litem program\, participated in fundraising projects for SCCF\, and taught sign language classes. Jodi currently lives in Fort Myers\, just a few miles from the causeway\, which she crosses almost daily\, often to play tennis at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club. \nJodi has enjoyed a variety of crafts for over 50 years\, including needlepoint\, embroidery\, crewel\, punch-hook rug-making\, and knitting. During the past two years\, she has found a new passion — the art of macrame. She makes wall hangings and plant hangers\, and has been commissioned to make holiday ornaments & wreaths\, and original pieces for gifts and non-profit organizations. \nCombining her love for teaching with her new craft is something Jodi naturally enjoys. \n
