DESCRIPTION:  \nCommittee of the Islands & SanCap Resilience to co-host COTI Conversation:\nThe State of Resilience on Sanibel \nOn Monday\, April 27\, at 6:30 p.m.\, the Committee of the Islands (COTI) and SanCap Resilience will welcome Ashlee Painter\, Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Sanibel\, for a discussion on “The State of Resilience on Sanibel.” \nAshlee Painter\nAs we approach the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Ian\, there are several questions that remain on the minds of many on Sanibel and Captiva. How well prepared is our community for future storms? What is being done to address the causes and impacts of climate change to make our community safer and align our actions with Sanibel’s long-held focus on sustainability? \nIn this important program\, Ms. Painter will address these questions\, describing what has been accomplished in the city to date and laying out a vision of where we can go from here. \nIn this program\, she will address: \n▪️What is resilience?\n▪️Resilient Roots – where we started\n▪️Major and minor disruptors – hurricanes\, pandemics\, power outages\, etc.\n▪️What has been done since 2020\n▪️Where are we going and how you can be involved? \nThere will be ample time for audience questions and discussion. Please join us for this important event. \nThe general public is welcome to attend.
